ACCESSIBILITY

Accessibility

National Pension Week aims to provide a digital experience that can be used by as many people as possible, including people using assistive technologies.

Our accessibility approach

Designed toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA

The production target for this platform is Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing part of design, content and testing rather than a one-time certification claim.

How the site is designed to support access

  • Keyboard navigation and visible keyboard focus for interactive controls.
  • Logical heading structure and descriptive link labels.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images.
  • Captions or transcripts for published video and recorded sessions where those assets are available.
  • Colour contrast and content that does not depend on colour alone.
  • Zoom and responsive reflow without requiring horizontal scrolling on supported layouts.
  • Accessible form labels, validation messages and error-recovery guidance.
  • Authentication and verification flows designed to remain usable with keyboard and assistive technologies where those flows are enabled.
  • Touch controls designed with usable target sizes.
  • Reduced-motion preferences respected where motion is not essential.

Media accessibility

Published video and recorded sessions should include captions, transcripts or equivalent accessible alternatives where available. Media that does not yet have an accessible alternative should not be described as fully accessible.

Using the site with a keyboard

You should be able to move through navigation, links, forms, accordions and other interactive controls using a keyboard. Visible focus indicators are provided to show which control is active.

Zoom, reflow and mobile use

The interface is designed to reflow across desktop, tablet and mobile layouts so content remains readable and controls remain usable as the viewport changes or text is enlarged.

Report an accessibility issue

If you experience difficulty using the National Pension Week website, please use the Contact page and choose the Accessibility enquiry category. Include the page or feature you were using and a brief description of the difficulty so the issue can be investigated.
